06.29.26 gossip: everyone you like is a narc

the guy from that band everyone is pretending to like this month has been telling people he produced a record he played tambourine on. we have the session sheet. we are not going to print it, because that would be cruel, and because he will do this again in six weeks and we would rather save it.

two separate people have now told us the same story about the van, the gas station outside barstow and the missing drum hardware. the details do not match. one of them is lying and we think we know which.

somebody is going to get very famous this year for being extremely mediocre and we would like it on the record that we said so first.

06.23.26 gossip: the tour van did not make it to phoenix

the van made it as far as phoenix. the band did not, in any meaningful sense, make it to phoenix.

we have heard three versions. in one, the promoter never confirmed. in another, the drummer left in flagstaff. in the third, which we believe, nobody checked the oil for eleven hundred miles.

06.15.26 gossip: someone finally said it out loud

somebody finally said the thing everyone has been saying privately for two years, said it into a microphone, and then spent the following week explaining that they had been misquoted. they were not misquoted. we have the tape. everybody has the tape.

elsewhere: a label that has been telling bands it is "restructuring" has been restructuring for fourteen months, which is not restructuring, that is just what being broke looks like when you own a nice jacket.
